Join us in celebrating our heritage.
In a bid to revive and sustain the practices of the Korekore people, starting September 2026 (dates to be confirmed, but tentatively on 26 & 27 September), we shall be having a gathering in rememberance and honour of the Mukwerera practice.
The Mukwerera is a rain-making ceremony annually held by the Korekore people around the end of September. Traditionally, the ceremony used to go on for a week, and it used to be held at the shrine of a female spirit medium, the medium of the greatest spirits of the Clan.
